Wyle Laboratories' commitment to aviation medical technology began in 1960 when Wyle pioneered efforts in supporting the acceleration studies and training conducted for the Mercury Space Program. These capabilities expanded in the mid-1990s when Wyle Laboratories purchased the rights to the ground-based training simulator and dynamic motion simulator product line of the Emro Engineering Company. The acquisition added the 35 years of experience and expertise of Emro engineers in motion and altitude simulation equipment to the already capable staff of Wyle engineering specialists. Wyle, along with the Emro catalogue, became a major designer and supplier of aeromedical training equipment and facilities.
These systems include:
- Human research and training centrifuges
- Dynamic Flight Simulators
- Spatial disorientation trainers
- Somatogyral servo turntables
- Hypobaric chambers
Wyle provides long-term operations and maintenance support, and training for client personnel to ensure self-sufficiency in the operation and maintenance of the system based on the specific needs of the customer.
