Brooks City-Base in San Antonio, a historic Air Force base formerly known as Brooks Air Force Base, was originally built during World War I and has served as a flight training facility for more than 40 years. Wyle has updated and expanded its capabilities at this site to provide commercial spaceflight customers with passenger and crew training and medical screening services, while continuing to serve Department of Defense and NASA customers. Physiological and human factors research and aerospace equipment testing services are also offered at the Brooks facility.

A simulated spaceflight environment is used to train and prepare passengers and crew for the unique aspects of space travel, starting with a pre-training assessment of current fitness level. Familiarization with the high acceleration forces and zero and microgravity experienced during spaceflight are the first steps to ensuring the experience of a lifetime for commercial space travelers.

Human Centrifuge Training and Medical Screening

• Flight readiness testing and training, training in established protective techniques, and customer-specific training programs
