Effective management of aeronautical and aeronautical-related systems demands the continuous critical assessment of cost and performance. Wyle performs analytical efforts in support of aeronautical and aeronautical-related systems throughout their life cycle, offering a full spectrum of aeronautical services including aeronautical systems integration and analysis, cost analysis, life cycle management, pilot and aircrew support services, test and evaluation, and weapons systems engineering.
Wyle offers operational analysis of friendly and threat systems; systems and technology assessment evaluation of proposed systems solutions to define their potential to meet established performance requirements; cost and affordability analysis establishment of both the cost and relative effectiveness of proposed systems solutions; supportability analysis determination and control of the total ownership cost derived from established and evolving support concepts; and interoperability analysis assessment of system performance.
Wyle’s analysis support to DoD includes investigation/analysis of equipment problems and a wide range of analyses relating to logistics issues. Wyle provides analysis of reliability, maintainability, and supportability issues; independent program assessment, cost estimating and analysis support; life cycle cost/total ownership cost analysis; level-of-repair analysis; reliability centered maintenance analysis; integrated maintenance concept analysis; investigation of maintenance and supportability problems; analysis of maintenance requirements and development/update of maintenance plans; and evaluation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements. Wyle's experience extends to the identification of affordability/ supportability problems that have the potential to be addressed via technology insertion to lower life cycle costs.
Wyle’s approach to aircraft systems integration is based on a structured process applying the full range of the company’s technical expertise and experience. System architectures are developed and hardware and software integration approaches are generated as a function of the detailed analysis of subsystem interface data. Wyle's cadre of subject matter experts ensures that interface specifications are generated and reviewed, interface hardware and software is developed and detailed system integration plans are established to facilitate the integration and testing process. Wyle's simulation and modeling tools are used to validate system interfaces in a controlled, structured laboratory environment prior to ground and flight test. This ordered test and validation method provides end-to-end system testing that is critical to early identification and resolution of problem areas.
Wyle‘s experience with all facets of weapons systems engineering to military program offices include requirements definition and validation, test program planning, specification development, cost estimation, risk and tradeoff analyses, modeling and simulation studies, and technology maturity and manufacturing assessments. Examples of support provided for engineering field activities include airframe structural analyses and modifications, prototype demonstrations, conduct of test and evaluation programs, and flight control development and testing.
