EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 24– A veteran aerospace executive and U.S. Air Force veteran has been named to head the Test and Engineering business unit of Wyle.
Jim Neu, who spent the past nine years as an executive and senior manager at DRS Technologies and Raytheon Electronic Systems, has been appointed Wyle senior vice president and general manager. He will oversee Wyle’s test and engineering operations throughout the nation including facilities in California, Alabama, Iowa and Virginia.
He served as executive vice president and general manager of DRS Sensors and Targeting Systems prior to joining Wyle. At Raytheon, he was senior director and general manager of Airborne Electro-Optical Products.
He is a Vietnam combat veteran and served as an F-15 pilot who retired from the Air Force as a full colonel following a 27-year career. Neu holds a degree in engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, is a graduate of the Air War College, and holds masters degrees in business administration from Boston University and in industrial engineering from Stanford.
Wyle, a privately held company, is a leader in providing testing, research and engineering services to commercial, industrial and government customers. The company also provides technical support services, life sciences, special test systems and other technical support services to the aerospace, defense, nuclear, communications and transportation industries.
